Notice that these accelerations and decelerations are all before impact and that the only segment that doesn’t decelerate prior to impact is the club head. ![]() Look in the shaded gray area of Figure 2 and notice how, during the downswing, the lead hip accelerates (goes up) and reaches its peak speed first, then decelerates (goes down), followed by the lead shoulder, the mid-hands and finally the club. It shows the linear speed of his lead hip, lead shoulder, mid-hands and club head. Figure 2 shows the linear Kinematic Sequence graph of a world class golfer. Therefore it would make sense that there is also a linear kinematic sequence during the downswing, and in fact there is. It is also known that the golf swing is not only rotational it has a linear component of motion as well. Figure 1 shows the graph of the rotational Kinematic Sequence of a world class golfer and includes images of his position at each peak speed point in the downswing. This action causes the club to accelerate rapidly and reach its highest speed at impact. Each successive segment peaks faster and later than the previous segment. Each body segment pelvis, ribcage and arm sequentially accelerates and decelerates before impact, starting from the inner large body segments the pelvis and ribcage, then progressing to the smaller outer segments the arms, hands and club. It describes the proximal-to-distal sequencing of the rotation speeds of the body segments. It is known that there is an efficient sequence of motion in a skilled golf swing called the Kinematic Sequence. There are numerous examples of this policy bearing fruit as many ITU-T Recommendations (international standards) have been heavily influenced by academic involvement. Given that the concepts of innovative technologies are normally developed in the academic world, ITU is increasingly looking to attract academics from the world’s universities and R&D institutions, fostering their involvement in the ITU Standardization process. The objective is to hold these events once a year in different parts of the world. By viewing technologies through a Kaleidoscope, these forward looking events will also seek to identify new topics for standardization. I believe that children learn best through play and exploration and I get great satisfaction in supporting and empowering them as they learn to navigate the world. The ITU Kaleidoscope events aim to increase the dialogue between experts working on the standardization of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) and academia. My clinical area of interest lies in early intervention as I feel therapists can make an enormous difference during these crucial early years in which the foundations of growth and learning are established. I have also worked with children below 2 years and their families within the home setting. My clinical experience includes the management of postural challenges, and the assessment and prescription of seating and mobility equipment. In addition to early intervention, I have worked in a variety of settings from hospitals, training and development centres and local mainstream schools. Building school readiness skills and providing support through collaboration with preschools was a key element of the intervention offered. The focus of this support included helping children with their daily living skills, motor ability, sensory processing differences, and perceptual skills. The team worked closely with children and their families, providing a range of services including consultations, individual and group therapy. Prior to joining Kaleidoscope, I was a practising occupational therapist in an early intervention setting, where I worked in a trans-disciplinary team. This has deepened my understanding, and appreciation, of family-centred practice. In addition to being a busy therapist, I am a mother to a toddler. I consider myself to be a therapist who is child-centred with an emphasis on delivering services that support a child’s right to respectful, strengths-based therapy. I believe strongly in building trusting, collaborative relationships with the families I support and have been recognised for this with a gold medal from the Singapore Health Quality Service Awards, and a bronze medal from the KKH Service from the Heart Awards. An example is a presentation at the Singapore Allied Health Conference on my research into Telepractice: Training and Coaching of Early Intervention Professionals in Singapore During COVID. I have conducted research and presented papers both locally and overseas. I then went on to work in local early intervention centres and private practice.Īlthough clinical work is my passion, I also enjoy contributing actively to my profession. Her work ended up on the cover of the duo’s “I Don’t Care” album. And my first styling was with a group called Audio Two and Audio Two came in the store one day - I think MC Lyte referred Audio Two - because they wanted someone from Brooklyn to make the clothes for their video,” Walker said. “I officially started Walker Wear because I started styling. That’s what hip-hop is to me.”īefore long, after popping in at Dapper Dan’s and thanks to her Fashion in Effect customer base who knew what they wanted from style, Walker Wear was born. We were bleaching our jeans, ripping up our shirts and just doing things a little different. “I was able to see people in their best forms of self-expression, but they were actually self-expressing by manipulating and remixing styles that they went and bought off the rack but wasn’t really representing lifestyle for us of that moment, of what we were hearing, feeling. We had Latin Quarter at that time, we had Broadway International, Barnes International, Zanzibar, Bentleys, Roxy…those were like fashion shows for me,” Walker said. She started with her first custom clothing shop, Fashion in Effect, in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn, but used the streets to inform her next move. You had this whole Reaganomics and crack era setting in, and at the same time, there was this spirit of entrepreneurship going on with people figuring out how to actually create. “So, it really spoke to my heart and the energy was magnetic, and New York was just a magnetic and electric vibe in the ‘80s. And even before that, coming up with Grandmaster Flash and all of those guys, they were really talking about neighborhoods and concerns and things - they were like the CNN but for the streets, things that weren’t being talked about on the news,” Walker said. “Public Enemy was a huge influence and there was everybody from Chubb Rock, Audio Two, Run-DMC, a lot of people I was listening to. That hip-hop soundtrack was big and the clothes would be, too. A new documentary short by NBC News out Thursday, “50 Years Fly: The Rise, Fall and Revolution of Hip-Hop Fashion,” has Walker among its interviewed experts. It was the soundtrack of my life at the time,” said Walker, who’s regarded as the first woman, and among the pioneers, in what’s now known as streetwear. “I reverse engineered into fashion because of my love for hip-hop. Walker, founder of Walker Wear, was one of them the music was her muse. Some key women were shaping styles that would become iconic and go on to help define the streetwear we know today. We don't need two parallel sets of extensions! If you need extensions, you really should upgrade to Moose. See also Mouse::Spec for compatibility and incompatibility with Moose. Moose's diagnostics and validation are also better. Since Mouse is a little sloppier than Moose, if you run into weird errors, it would be worth running: ANY_MOOSE=Moose perl To that end, we have written Any::Moose which will act as Mouse unless Moose is loaded, in which case it will act as Moose. The idea is that, if you need the extra power, you should be able to run s/Mouse/Moose/g on your codebase and have nothing break. The Mouse code just runs its test suite 4x faster. ![]() Even the error messages are taken from Moose. The sugary interface is highly compatible with Moose. Moose CompatibilityĬompatibility with Moose has been the utmost concern. Mouse also works without XS, although it has an XS backend to make it much faster. Mouse currently has no dependencies except for building/testing modules. We're also going as light on dependencies as possible. Mouse is a Moose compatible object system, which aims to alleviate this penalty by providing a subset of Moose's functionality. If you are writing a command-line application or CGI script where startup time is essential, you may not be able to use Moose (we recommend that you instead use persistent Perl executing environments like FastCGI for the latter, if possible). Though significant progress has been made over the years, the compile time penalty is a non-starter for some very specific applications. Unfortunately, Moose has a compile-time penalty. TemperatureĪs tested the Dock remained generally cool, around 40C after sustained transfers. The SD card slot, when tested, peaked just shy of the rated 270 MBps, which is a nice option for content creators on the go. This will never exceed QLC sequential write speeds even on a single drive. Miscellaneous Testing - Ethernet and SD Card Slot SpeedĪlso worth noting is that speeds over Ethernet should be at the maximum allowed, that is approximately 112.5 MBps. Nevertheless, if we’re looking for maximum burst performance, it’s impossible to beat the dock with RAID-0. We see more typical patterns with the other drives, including the great direct-to-TLC speeds we would expect on the Extreme Pro v2. For realistic workloads, the SLC cache should not be limiting, although keep in mind the cache will become much smaller as the drives are filled. This not only spreads the writes out but also gives the controllers more opportunities to do folding in the background. This makes it particularly difficult to show how the drives perform outside of SLC mode, given that the speed is limited in both modes to about half of what the native drives could achieve. The Rocket Qs utilize full-drive SLC caching, which is around 2TB of QLC for the 8TB SKUs. ![]() We also monitor cache recovery via multiple idle rounds. We use Iometer to hammer the SSD with sequential writes for 15 minutes to measure both the size of the write cache and performance after the cache is saturated. Sustained write speeds can suffer tremendously once the workload spills outside of the cache and into the "native" TLC or QLC flash. Most SSDs implement a write cache, a fast area of (usually) pseudo-SLC programmed flash that absorbs incoming data. Official write specifications are only part of the performance picture. Sustained Write Performance and Cache Recovery The RAID-0 especially helps at high queue depth with high threading, obviously with writes. The dock also does well with latency and random reads and writes, particularly writes, only falling behind in areas where the QLC is a bit of a limitation. This trend continues with CrystalDiskMark, particularly with sequential writes. System Requirements: macOS 10.13 High Sierra or later / Windows 8.Again, the dock lags behind in single-drive mode but wins in RAID-0 for our sequential read/write ATTO tests.Operating Voltage: 100 - 240 V AC (via power cord).Storage Temperature: -20° to +45° C (max. ![]() ![]() Operating Temperature: 0° to +40° C (max.Dimensions (W x H x D): 482 x 44.1 x 352 mm.2x USB 3.1 (Gen 2) via USB-C (up to 10 Gbit/s).4x Storage media via 2.5" SSD (SATA III, up to 6 Gbit/s).12 months limited manufacturer's warranty.Ideal in combination with the HyperDeck Extreme 8K HDR by Blackmagic Design.Output via two USB-C outputs with up to 10 Gbit/s.The dock is powered by a separately available power cord.
